On May 17 an historic event will take place when ROCOR and the Russian Church reunite. Fr. Seraphim Rose looked forward to the day when these two churches would heal their wounds.
“Fr. Seraphim also emphasized that the division between the Russian Church Abroad, to which he himself belonged, and the Moscow Patriarchate, to which Fr. Dimitry belonged, was only a temporary division, and should end when communism collapses and the Church in Russia is Free again, as indeed it is today: ‘Fr Dimitry’s voice is a pledge that our lack of communion with the Moscow Patriarchateis only a temporary thing, because the orthodoxy of someone like Fr.
